John McDonald

For the last 6 years he has lived in Hungary and in this time became a teacher of Sogetsu ikebana, helping to stage exhibits and demonstrations to promote this art. 

Returning to Scotland he is demonstrating and giving workshops, as well as promoting ikebana there. At one time John had his own flower shop in Dundee, and was also head florist at the internationally renowned Gleneagles Hotel near Perth. 

His work has appeared in various magazines, particularly Fusion Flowers Wedding magazine where he created two very unique bridal collections.  He has also achieved two gold medals at the renowned RHS Chelsea flower show in London. 

John would love people to bring flowers into their lives – it’s an opportunity to be personally creative and to reconnect with nature.
