Hidde Klink is a highly talented and hugely enthusiastic young Dutch florist with a great sense of humour! Hidde grew up surrounded by “cows & grass” – his words! After training he went to work at Meesterlijk Geschikt (MG flowers & more) with Miranda ter Voorde where he has remained for the last 4.5 years.
He loves entering competitions and in 2016 came first in the Dutch Junior Cup. In turn this led him to have the honour to represent his country at the 2017 Eurofleurs competition where he was placed in 4th position.
Hidde thrives under pressure which is just as well as his work entails a lot of events, weddings, floral styling and concepts! He is widely travelled from the Middle East to USA to Scandinavia – clearly he is destined for great things.
He tells us that his inspiration comes from nature, art and absolutely from fashion. He says “Alexander McQueen might be my biggest hero”. He loves to ‘play’ with colours and new materials to combine nature and something edgy. Hidde says “Flowers and working with this beautiful product makes me happy, made me who I am and will bring me much more pleasure in the future. I think i can say that there is floral blood running through my veins.” Nice!
In 2015 he was the youngest competitor in the Dutch television show: Hollands Beste Bloemstylist when, out of 15 candidates, he was placed 5th. It was a great experience, lots of fun and he made lots of new friends. But coming to Floral Fundamentals – he has made even more friends and will continue to do so.
As they say – watch this space…!
